You know you're a mom when.......

1)Waking up at 8am is sleeping in.
2)Driving a minivan is luxury driving
3)You can't sleep without the soft buzz of the baby monitor.
4)You can quote Dr Suess' ABC book from memory
5)You know all the words to kids songs but can't think of any adult songs.
6)You find pacifiers, goldfish crackers and kids sunglasses in your purse but can't find your keys.
7)You're willing to kiss your child's boo-boo, regardless of what body part it happens to be on.
8)Peanut butter and jelly is eaten at least in one meal a day.
9)Spit is your number one cleaning agent.
10)you find yourself yawning and fighting sleep at 9pm.

These are just a few things I've found to be true as a mom and I thought I'd share them with you.

Little Spud update

things are going well with the little guy. He is growing like he should and I have had no other major problems since the glucose test. This pregnancy is a little different for me though. I am 35 weeks and have been struggling with eating. It's not that I can't eat or am not hungry. It's that food (other than milk and fruit) makes me nauseated to smell and makes me dry heave if I try to eat. The last few days have been a big struggle. My OB says that is normal for some women in the 3rd trimester to have morning sickness return. She suggested small frequent meals and to drink as much as I can with this heat. She also suggested more vit. B12. So we'll see if that helps.

Also I am 1 centimeter dilated already and Little spud is head down and in the right spot. The OB thinks that I will have this baby early like Bryce and so we are anticipating his arrival Aug. 1st. That is fine by me! August is suppose to be hotter! I had a feeling I would not make it to Aug 21st! So August would be a good month to visit and see the new guy. :) That is if all goes according to my plan :)

Don't worry Shiloh! I haven't forgotten to put a prego pic of me up yet. I just need to get Jim to take one. Hopefully I will have one up in the next few days. I haven't gained as much this time. With Bryce by 36 weeks I had gained 36 pounds. This time I've only gained 26.

In the Eyes of a Child

Bryce always wakes up so excited. He can't wait to eat, play and see the world. It is a good reminder to me that I should wake up and be excited to see what God has in store for me that day as well as thank Him for another day. Often that is not my first thought. I would much rather turn the baby monitor off and go back to sleep.
To Bryce everything is new and exciting. He loves to water God's creation and explore all the new plants that are in bloom and eat from the garden.

maybe if I woke up with the mindset that today is a new gift from God and I have lots to explore I might have a better day. Hmmm...now there's an idea.

Lately I've just wanted to hurry through the day so I can go back to bed. This often leaves me irritable, impatient, and miserable.

My new Mommy Mobile

I got a new car!!! Never thought I'd ever drive a minivan but I'm enjoying it. It was time to give up my little 2 door gold car and get something a little more family appropriate. Jim bargained a good deal on it and we are enjoying it. Bryce loves the fact that he can see out his own window and I'm loving the fact that the stroller fits in the truck and I still have room; as well as the fact that I don't have to bend down to put Bryce or the new one in their car seats.

So Good-bye Sandy. Thanks for the great four years we had!! :)

Here's my new wheels: It has decent gas mileage and drives oh so smoothly!

Family Vacation to WA

Sorry it has been a while since I've posted. There hasn't been much to say until recently. For the 4th of July weekend we went back to Washington to celebrate Jim's grandma's 96th birthday. The Lovett family was going to have a mini reunion at his uncle's beach house. Since Jim's brother and his family would be there from Florida, and some other relatives we don't see much would be there, we made the 10 hour drive out. (I am not supposed to fly this last stage of pregnancy.) While in Washington Bryce had his first ferry ride, first experience of the beach, and his first time playing in a sand box....well in this case a sand boat.

Here are some pictures of our trip. It was great to see family and friends again.
