3 months and 11 pounds later

Bryce will be 3 months old on Friday and I can hardly believe it! Where has the time gone?? Jim and I are totally enjoying parenthood. Bryce has finally gotten back on track from all the family outings and visits. He has really been a good baby. I have sucessfully "trained" him to sleep through the night using the Baby Wise theory. It has been great! He now sleeps in his own room in his crib. The first night of moving him out was harder on me than him. I cried myself to sleep. It just felt weird not having him right next to me and I couldn't hear him breathe. We do have baby monitors but it doesn't catch the sound of his breathing as well as having him next to me. Oh well. We all are sleeping much better this way so it was time.

We were having a great deal of frustration with Bryce after our trip to Idaho. He spat up so much more than he ever did. We were going through multiple bibs, outfits, burp clothes and mommy outfits! It was getting to be 3 for me and about 4 or 5 for him! i finally called the pediatrician when Bryce started gagging and choking on it. It turns out Bryce has acid reflux. He should grow out of it about 6-9 months, but the doctor gave us this medication to lessen it so he doesn't keep choking. The gagging and choking kept waking him up. Life is much better now that he's spitting up less!

1st Family Reunion in Idaho

My dad's side of the family decided to have the first annual reunion in Idaho at my parents house this past week. It was a blast! Bryce did great on the plane and was a pretty good baby the whole week we were there. For the first couple of days I really only saw Bryce for nursing and to put to bed for the night. My cousin Katherine always wanted to change his diaper and everyone just passed him around. It was a nice break for me. :) We did lots of fun things while there. Everyday we did something....tour of the old mining town Idaho city, mini golf and go-carts at the Boondocks, visiting Mom and Dad's church on sunday, and a big BBQ party for Dad's birthday. We also went to a Phillips,Craig, Dean concert at the God and Country festival. Bryce enjoyed the music but slept through the fireworks. We also rode a train up the top and then white water rafted down the Payette River. Bryce took the train back down with Oma (German for Grandma). It was a great time with the family and we look forward to the next one.
